EYECON: Celebrating LGBTQ+ Icons of Louisiana

Photo documentation of the annual Pride Month Exhibition in collaboration with The Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge inside the Shell Gallery located at the Cary Saurage Community Arts Center.

The Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge is proud to present EYECON, a juried exhibition at the Shell Gallery that explores the people, moments, and cultural traditions that have shaped Louisiana’s LGBTQ+ community.

On view June 7 through July 3, 2026, EYECON brings together a diverse group of Louisiana artists whose work reflects stories of resilience, activism, identity, joy, and cultural impact. Through a variety of visual mediums, the exhibition honors both well-known and often-overlooked figures, movements, and milestones that have contributed to the rich history of LGBTQ+ life across the state.
